Role Description This is an in-person, on-site role for a Data Scientist supporting the mission and operations of the United States Space Force and talent management programs in particular. The Data Scientist will collect, clean, and analyze large and complex datasets to inform strategic and operational decision-making related to personnel records. Daily tasks include designing data models, applying statistical and machine learning methods, building dashboards and visualizations, and preparing clear reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and policy, to translate mission challenges into data-driven solutions. The Data Scientist will also help improve data infrastructure, validate analytical methods, and contribute to best practices for data governance and security.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in data-centric disciplines, including Data Science and Data Analytics.
• Proficiency in quantitative methods, including Statistics and Data Analysis.
• Ability to present complex information clearly using Data Visualization tools and techniques.
• Experience with programming languages commonly used in analytics (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and relevant libraries or frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience working with large, complex, or real-time datasets and modern data platforms or cloud environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to communicate findings to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; familiarity with defense, aerospace, or government environments is beneficial.
