## About the Role
Figma is seeking a Finance Data Scientist to join its Finance Data Science team and help build the data foundation supporting financial reporting, forecasting, strategic decision-making, and investor communications.
This role sits at the intersection of finance, analytics, data engineering, and business strategy. You will work closely with Strategic Finance, Accounting, Investor Relations, Engineering, Product, and Data teams to ensure financial metrics are accurate, scalable, actionable, and trusted throughout the organization.
The role can be based remotely within the United States or from one of Figma's US hubs.
### Key Responsibilities
- * Own and improve data models supporting financial reporting, including ARR, revenue, billings, collections, and other key business metrics.
- * Build scalable reporting systems, forecasts, and analytical frameworks for Finance, Accounting, Investor Relations, and executive leadership.
- * Improve data accuracy and completeness throughout month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- * Collaborate with Engineering, Product, GTM Systems, and Financial Systems teams to maintain accurate and complete financial data.
- * Conduct detailed analyses that support strategic business decisions and identify opportunities to improve performance.
- * Define, measure, and operationalize important financial and operational metrics.
- * Design durable data solutions that balance immediate business requirements with long-term scalability.
- * Serve as a trusted thought partner to Finance leaders on reporting, forecasting, and business decision-making.
- * Independently drive projects from ambiguous requirements through execution.
### Required Qualifications
- * 3+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Finance, Financial Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- * Advanced SQL skills.
- * Strong proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
- * Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, Strategic Finance, FP&A, Investor Relations, or other finance-focused stakeholders.
- * Ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- * Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects from ambiguity to execution.
- * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
### Preferred Qualifications
- * Experience with SaaS, subscription-based, usage-based, or consumption-based business models.
- * Knowledge of accounting concepts and revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606.
- * Experience with modern analytics and data engineering technologies such as dbt, Snowflake, Git, Spark, Presto, or similar tools.
- * Experience supporting IPO readiness, public company reporting, SOX controls, audits, or other major corporate milestones.
- * Background in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Investment Banking, Consulting, or related fields.
### Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for the role is $140,000–$348,000 USD for Figma's San Francisco and New York hub locations. For remote positions, compensation is localized according to the employee's work location, with the applicable range adjusted between 80% and 100% of the stated range.

### Work Arrangement
This is a full-time position that can be held remotely within the United States or from one of Figma's US hub offices.
