Our challenge:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, predictive modeling, and data-driven problem solving. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to extract actionable insights from large and complex datasets, build scalable analytical models, and support strategic business initiatives.

  • The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is $120K - $130K/year & benefits (see below).
  • The Role
  • Responsibilities:
  • Analyze large, structured and unstructured datasets to identify business trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning and statistical models for forecasting, classification, clustering, and optimization.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
  • Build data pipelines and workflows to support model development and deployment.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to enhance model performance.
  • Design and execute A/B testing and experimentation frameworks to evaluate business initiatives.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Monitor model performance and recommend improvements to ensure continued accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure data quality, governance, and scalability of solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and best practices in data science, machine learning, and AI.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, advanced analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong programming experience in Python or R.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods, predictive modeling, and data mining techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, or Seaborn.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
