We are currently representing a global leader in professional information and analytics who is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join their expanding team. My client plays a pivotal role in the global research community, providing the digital infrastructure that enables experts to solve major challenges in healthcare and the sciences.
In this role, you will be tasked with building intelligent systems that can navigate and reason across vast datasets, including scientific publications, complex knowledge graphs, and multidisciplinary metadata. This is a unique opportunity to apply high-level machine learning and generative AI to a massive repository of human knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and implement machine learning models, natural language processing tools, and generative AI solutions to improve knowledge discovery.
Develop advanced search, ranking, and recommendation systems to help professionals validate findings and connect research ideas.
Fine-tune and deploy large language models and RAG systems into live production environments.
Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks to ensure the reliability, quality, and trustworthiness of AI-generated insights.
Build scalable data pipelines and maintainable Python codebases for continuous experimentation and deployment.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including engineering, UX, and domain experts to solve ambiguous research problems.
Candidate Requirements
Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics.
Strong proficiency in Python with a proven track record of shipping production-quality data science code.
Deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including performance optimization and feature engineering.
Practical experience with modern AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or Scikit-learn.
Hands-on experience with embeddings, retrieval systems, and large-scale unstructured datasets.
A commitment to building technology that has a positive real-world impact on global innovation and education.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is approximately 86,600 to 144,400 per year, depending on location and experience. Higher ranges are available for candidates based in specific metropolitan areas such as New York or parts of New Jersey.
This position is also eligible for a yearly performance-based incentive bonus. My client offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support long-term career success and personal well-being.
