About The Role

The Strategic Data Scientist at CoverMyMeds plays a vital role in driving the success of our organization by leveraging advanced analytics to generate actionable insights. This position is responsible for refining our value propositions and supporting key customer teams through comprehensive data analysis. The ideal candidate will focus on delivering high-impact, client-centric insights by prioritizing work that directly influences commercial outcomes. The role involves extensive collaboration with various business units and external clients, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational excellence.

As a Strategic Data Scientist, you will utilize your expertise in data science methodologies to analyze large datasets, develop predictive models, and communicate findings effectively through compelling visualizations and reports. Your insights will inform strategic decisions across product development, market positioning, and operational efficiencies. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the transformation of healthcare by turning complex data into clear, actionable strategies that improve patient outcomes and business performance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, business, public health, or a related field; healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in an analytics role within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
• Comprehensive understanding of data science methodologies including decision trees, multivariate analysis, segmentation modeling, factor analysis, regression analysis, forecasting, and machine learning.
• Proficiency with statistical software such as Python, R, MATLAB, SAS, or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a curious mindset, capable of quickly deciphering complex data issues.
• Self-motivated team player with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Experience in data mining, analysis, and deriving insights.
• Ability to create complex queries, generate reports, and present findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau or Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage expectations and articulate insights convincingly.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with client success teams and external clients by demonstrating the value of CoverMyMeds products through data storytelling.
• Deliver proactive analyses on portfolio performance, customer needs, and market trends, including industry events and competitive landscape assessments.
• Apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques to analyze product data, identify key drivers, and forecast outcomes to support strategic initiatives.
• Monitor portfolio health, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and escalate issues promptly to ensure continuous improvement.
• Create clear, concise visualizations and reports that communicate complex insights in an understandable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify opportunities for product enhancement and analytical process improvements to maximize efficiency and impact.
• Support complex client requests and issue escalations collaboratively with account teams, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
• Contribute insights to inform strategic and tactical decisions related to market positioning, product design, analytics, and operational improvements.
• Develop and deepen expertise in CoverMyMeds, the pharmaceutical industry, and the specific business context of supported accounts.
