OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist/Architect to join a dynamic Data & Digital Innovation organization within a commercial life sciences environment. This role focuses on building advanced analytics, machine learning, and generative AI solutions to drive data-driven decision-making across commercial functions.

The Data Scientist will play a key role in developing predictive models, Next Best Action (NBA) engines, and GenAI-powered solutions to improve customer engagement, optimize commercial strategy, and enable scalable AI-driven insights. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of data science, AI innovation, and business impact in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Science & AI Development

• Develop and deploy predictive models for key business outcomes such as patient events and behavioral trends.

• Build and scale Next Best Action (NBA) solutions to optimize engagement strategies across multiple channels.

• Apply advanced machine learning techniques including regression, classification, clustering, and NLP.

• Design and implement multi-touch attribution models to evaluate customer journey performance.

Generative AI & Advanced Analytics

• Develop and integrate GenAI-driven solutions, including:

o Decision support agents

o Content personalization frameworks

o AI-powered interfaces for ML pipelines

• Work with large language models (LLMs) and modern GenAI frameworks.

• Implement prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and agent-based systems (e.g., LangChain or similar frameworks).

ML Engineering & Pipeline Development

• Build and maintain end-to-end ML pipelines, including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.

• Implement MLOps best practices including model versioning, monitoring, and retraining pipelines.

• Support scalable deployments using cloud platforms and modern data tools.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate solutions into production environments.

Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Analytics) to translate business challenges into data science solutions.

• Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.

• Serve as a bridge between technical and business teams, ensuring adoption of AI and analytics solutions.

Data Management & Compliance

• Work with large-scale datasets including claims, EHR/EMR, CRM, and digital engagement data.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA).

• Support data governance and quality initiatives across analytics workflows.

EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree with 5–7+ years, or PhD with 3–5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics.

• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or commercial analytics environments preferred.

• Strong experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.

• Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies and LLM-based solutions.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams and delivering business-focused insights.

EDUCATION

• Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline required.

TO BE A BEST FIT, YOUR STRENGTHS MUST INCLUDE

Technical Expertise

• Proficiency in Python (preferred) or R, and SQL.

• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques.

• Experience with LLMs, GenAI frameworks, and modern AI architectures.

• Familiarity with MLOps tools and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks).

Analytical & Problem Solving

• Strong ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

• Experience designing scalable solutions for real-world business challenges.

Communication & Collaboration

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Domain Expertise

• Experience in commercial analytics, including:

o Customer segmentation and targeting

o Campaign optimization and attribution modeling

o Customer journey analytics

• Familiarity with Next Best Action frameworks and sales analytics.
