Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or other related field
  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Experience with Tableau and/or other data visualization tools
  • Proficient in at least one of the following languages: SQL, Python, R, Matlab
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite including MS Access and MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal customers and interpret business needs
  • Strong mathematics background to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses

THE WORK

RMS Owego is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Data Scientist Analyst who is looking for a challenging work environment.

Selected Individual Will Be Responsible For The Following

  • Designing and implementing reports and dashboards using data visualization tools.
  • Analyzing complex business problems using data from internal and external data sources to provide insight to stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Developing models to identify and interpret trends and patterns in data sets.

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Interacting with internal customers to develop data driven solutions
  • Analyzing business data and creating forecasts using statistical models
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining dashboards and data visualizations
  • Partner with business & technical experts to identify analytics opportunities and define requirements.
  • Ability to document requirements, designs and detailed technical specifications, training materials, operating instructions, and test plans to support development of predictive analytics solutions.
  • Utilize all parts of the data analytics pipeline, such as data collection, wrangling, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and presentation to deliver critical insights to internal customers

Desired Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with hands on experience in databases, data structures, or large scale data processing (e.g., Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Proficient in querying databases using Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of presenting complex findings to both technical and non technical audiences.
  • Ability to create clear, concise reports, dashboards, and visual stories that drive decision making.
  • Proficient in statistical programming and data processing tools (Python, Alteryx)
  • Experience with automation, artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning (ML).
  • Detail oriented, ensuring data accuracy through rigorous validation and root cause analysis
  • Self-motivated, driving independent projects while continuously learning new analytics and visualization tools

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
