Remote Data Process and Automation Analyst with Financial Services

Our client, a leading financial services organization within Alternative Investments operations, is seeking a remote consultant to support operational automation, reconciliation, and data process improvement initiatives across accounting and fund operations teams. This role is ideal for a highly analytical, technology-minded problem solver who enjoys improving operational workflows, working with large datasets, and automating manual processes within a fast-paced financial operations environment.

• The primary focus will be supporting automation and reconciliation initiatives tied to the Xceptor platform, helping the business manage and process high volumes of operational and accounting data more efficiently.
• Key Responsibilities
• Support operational automation and process improvement initiatives across Alternative Investments accounting and operations teams
• Work closely with Client Stakeholders on reconciliation and workflow automation efforts within the Xceptor platform
• Monitor and organize operational inbox tracking workflows and data intake processes
• Utilize Xceptor to extract, process, reconcile, and manage high volumes of financial and operational data
• Input and validate data within Xceptor and support downstream imports into the AltPro system
• Perform data mapping and reconciliation between systems where naming conventions and identifiers may differ
• Analyze highly manual operational processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
• Build and maintain Excel-based automation tools, reconciliation workflows, formulas, and macros
• Assist with operational reporting and reconciliation support for portfolio/accounting processes
• Collaborate directly with business and accounting users to improve workflows and reduce manual effort
• Operate independently while proactively identifying process bottlenecks and proposing scalable solutions
• Required Skills & Experience
• Strong Excel skills including:
• SQL
• Python scripting or automation tools
• Experience with process automation or workflow improvement initiatives
• Experience working with operational data ingestion and mapping across systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working with large datasets and operational workflows
• Ability to learn complex business processes quickly
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and figuring things out independently
• Strong attention to detail and process orientation
• Ability to bridge operational/business needs with technical solutions
• Self-starter mentality with strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in high-volume, deadline-driven operational environments

• Financial services, accounting, treasury, or fund operations experience
• Reconciliation or portfolio accounting exposure
• Experience with Xceptor (Acceptor), Geneva, AltPro, or similar financial operations platforms
