Data Operations Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Data Operations Engineer to join our enterprise Data Operations team to manage and support high-scale cloud data environments. This role is crucial to driving operational excellence, pipeline reliability, and scalability across our core business infrastructure. Working within a collaborative, fast-paced environment, you will play an essential role in optimizing our data ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and analytical datasets across AWS and/or GCP.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline failures, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Build and maintain ETL / ELT pipelines using Talend and/or dbt.
• Develop Python-based utilities, automation scripts, and operational tooling for monitoring, alerting, and reconciliation.
• Support data reprocessing, historical backfills, and controlled re-drives with strong governance and auditability.
• Partner with Data Engineering, BI, and Platform teams to ensure data freshness, accuracy, and SLA adherence.
• Implement and maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, and on-call support processes.
• Support cloud data platforms on AWS and/or GCP, including cost, performance, and reliability optimization.
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

7-10 years of hands-on experience in Data Operations, Data Engineering, or Platform Operations.

Proven expertise with Talend and enterprise-level SQL development.

Deep experience managing and supporting data infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP cloud environments.

Strong engineering background with proven capabilities in troubleshooting production platforms with strict SLA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using dbt and advanced Python scripting for automation.

Domain knowledge in the Retail, QSR (Quick Service Restaurant), or Consumer-facing industries.

Experience with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and data observability tooling.
