Data Modeler responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure that supports mission‑critical systems. Works with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into robust data models and pipelines, ensuring data integrity, performance, and accessibility. Plays a key role in enabling analytics, reporting, and operational decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models to accurately represent organizational data
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure models meet business and technical needs
- Maintain a central data dictionary, enforce data standards, and ensure compliance with data governance policies
- Optimize data infrastructure performance by tuning models, reducing redundancy, and improving database efficiency
- Design solutions for integrating data across systems and perform reverse engineering of existing databases when necessary
- Develop and maintain documentation, naming conventions, and coding standards to ensure consistency across data systems
- Ensure data is stored securely, efficiently, and is accessible for analysis and reporting
- Implement data validation and quality control processes to maintain accuracy, consistency, and reliability
- Optimize data pipelines for speed, scalability, and performance, ensuring data availability when needed
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and align infrastructure accordingly
- Troubleshoot data infrastructure issues, monitor system performance, and perform regular maintenance for smooth operation
- Support configuration control, documentation, and change impact analysis on the data architecture model, including identification of authoritative source databases and data replication processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Data Science, Math, Statistics, or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years of experience designing data models and process flows, collaborating with engineering stakeholders
- Minimum 6 years of experience with AWS Medallion architecture, including AWS Redshift
- Minimum 6 years of experience with dashboarding tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Minimum 6 years of experience with ERDs, dimensional modeling, and normalization techniques
- Minimum 6 years of experience with big data technologies (Hadoop or Spark)
- Minimum 3 years of experience with data cataloging tools (Collibra) and data transformation tools (Dataiku)
- Proficiency with Power BI, Visual Basic, MS Excel, MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad, MagicDraw, Midas, SSAS, Alation, Oracle, SQL, and related tools
- Strong written and oral communication, with proven collaboration in cross‑functional teams
- Solid background in data governance, data quality concepts, and data warehousing
- Familiarity with cloud-based data services such as AWS or Azure
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments
Preferred Skills
- Master’s Degree in mathematics, statistics, business, engineering, physical/applied sciences, or management discipline
- 10 or more years of relevant work experience
- Experience with structured problem‑solving techniques
- Knowledge of technical requirements and systems relevant to Combat Vehicles
- Experience working with development teams
- Knowledge of metrics related to Agile and use of them to report back to team members at all levels
- 1+ years of Scrum/Agile management
- In‑depth knowledge of Engineering and/or manufacturing environments
