Data Migration Engineer

Are you passionate about solving complex data challenges and transforming legacy data into meaningful business solutions? We're seeking an experienced Data Migration Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative with a highly impactful public sector organization.

• Location: Remote (Candidates must be local to California)
• Duration: Long-Term Contract (12+ Months)

• What You'll Do
• Extract, analyze, cleanse, transform, and validate data from multiple legacy systems
• Develop source-to-target mappings and support data conversion activities
• Perform data profiling, reconciliation, and quality assurance to ensure data integrity
• Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and external partners to define data requirements and resolve data issues
• Document data conversion logic, validation rules, and data flow processes
• Support enterprise-wide migration efforts and help drive successful implementation outcomes

• What We're Looking For
• Experience with data migration, data conversion, ETL, and data validation
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets
• Knowledge of legacy systems, flat files, structured and unstructured data
• Experience with source-to-target mapping, crosswalk analysis, and data reconciliation
• Familiarity with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, mainframe, or similar legacy environments
• Ability to troubleshoot data quality issues and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
