- Job Title: Data Manager- PM/BSA
- Job Location: Toronto,Ontario-Hybrid (4 days a week)
- Long Term Contract
- Lead data issue investigations, identify root causes, and implement effective remediation plans.
- • Own data issue management for portfolio inclusive of stakeholder communications and escalations.
- • Monitor service performance, define targets, analyze trends, and drive corrective actions.
- • Manage relationships with delivery teams and partners, hold regular service delivery reviews.
- • Ensure operational documentation and training materials remain current and accessible.
- • Provide technical and people leadership, setting clear objectives and delivering results.
- • Measure and monitor the level of service, analyze trends, agree on service target levels, and
- determine appropriate actions.
- • Partner with technology and business teams (upstream and downstream) to assess environmental
- changes, data impacts, and performance requirements.
- • Follow process management discipline for change management of all systems managed.
- • Work with technology partners to ensure that environmental modifications interact appropriately,
- data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements.
- • Understand baseline support costs (people, infrastructure, application) and work to drive down the
- cost of the supported services.
- • Ensure operational, reputational, and proprietary risks are minimized and focus on process
- improvement.
- • Drive and manage a highly effective controls environment covering change management, production
- implementation, compliance and audit controls, and business continuity.
- • In partnership with other team members, ensure a close relationship is maintained with partners
- (internal and external), to keep informed of their business needs and direction.
Job Requirements:
- • Minimum 5 years’ experience in data management, preferably within a financial institution
- • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence to interact at senior levels in an
- organization.
- • Proficiency in SQL, Python, relational databases, and data exchange formats (e.g., JSON, XML).
- Internal
- • Experience with data architecture and modeling (data warehouse concepts, schema design, data
- integration patterns).
- • Demonstrated expertise in ETL design, data integration, and pipeline monitoring.
- • Familiar with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- • Proven ability to lead and influence teams across multiple geographies.
- • Readiness to direct the development of problem resolutions, plans and strategies for operational
- improvement/advancement.
- • Comfortable serving as a key internal and external point of contact.
- • Commitment to developing team capability in line with business and technology strategy.
- • Strong interest in continuous learning and staying current with industry trends.
- • Client-focused mindset with an emphasis on partnership and service excellence
