- SAU 29 is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative District Wide Data and Student Information Specialist. This role is vital in helping all district schools build and maintain robust data systems to track student achievement, growth, and performance throughout their educational journey.
- Key Responsibilities
- Data System Building & Maintenance: Build, maintain, and manage internal databases storing student growth, performance data, and behavior/cultural metrics across state, national, and district formative assessments.
- Reporting & Analysis: Develop insightful performance and growth reports at the student, classroom, grade-level, school-wide, and cohort levels that align with Response to Instruction (RtI) frameworks.
- Capacity Building & Training: Provide professional development and technical support to school-based data specialists, principals, and teachers, empowering them to analyze and act on assessment data.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate the sharing of student achievement data with Central Office staff, administrators, teachers, and parents (primarily using PowerSchool).
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the Assistant Superintendent and IT Manager to optimize current/future IT systems and continuously align data approaches with the District's Strategic Plan.
- Education & Experience
- Required: Associate's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or equivalent work-related experience. (Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties will be considered).
- Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Data Tools: Strong proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, pivot tables, and Structured Query Language (SQL). Basic statistical analysis skills are required.
- Student Information Systems (SIS): Experience with PowerSchool and Google Applications.
- Assessment Frameworks: Familiarity with the data structures of assessment tools such as NWEA, AIMSWeb, Smarter Balanced, DIBELS, Fountas & Pinnell, PSAT, and SAT.
