We are seeking a Data Governance Lead who can drive data quality, metadata management, stewardship, and policy enforcement initiatives while ensuring trusted, consistent, and well-governed data assets across the organization.

About the Role
The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for establishing and operationalizing enterprise data governance practices, including metadata management, business glossary development, critical data element (CDE) governance, data quality frameworks, stewardship workflows, and policy enforcement. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, platform teams, and governance committees to ensure data is reliable, accessible, secure, and compliant with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
✅ Establish and maintain enterprise data governance frameworks, standards, and operating procedures.
✅ Define and manage metadata management processes, business glossaries, and Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
✅ Implement and oversee data stewardship workflows and governance operating models.
✅ Develop and enforce data quality standards, controls, and monitoring processes.
✅ Lead integration and adoption of the enterprise data catalog and metadata repository.
✅ Establish data lineage and traceability practices across enterprise data assets.
✅ Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data ownership, accountability, and governance responsibilities.
✅ Support policy development, compliance monitoring, and governance reporting.
✅ Facilitate governance councils, stakeholder workshops, and data stewardship forums.

Required Qualifications
✔ 3+ years of experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Management initiatives.
✔ Hands-on experience with enterprise Data Governance and Data Catalog solutions.
✔ Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
✔ Experience defining business glossaries, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), and stewardship processes.
✔ Knowledge of data governance policies, standards, controls, and compliance practices.
✔ Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications
⭐ Experience with healthcare, Medicaid, public health, or government data environments.
⭐ Experience implementing enterprise data catalog and governance platforms.
⭐ Knowledge of master data management, reference data management, and information lifecycle governance.
⭐ Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, Data Lakes, and Lakehouse architectures.
⭐ Experience supporting enterprise analytics and data modernization initiatives.
