• About the Role
• Gear Partners is seeking a Data Engineer to serve as the lead technical analyst for client implementations. In this role, you will gather functional and data mapping requirements, oversee technical project activities, and manage data migrations from legacy systems to new databases.
• You will collaborate with clients, business analysts, and data warehouse teams to ensure accurate data transfers, improve database performance, and develop scalable data solutions that support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical analysis activities for client implementations, including gathering functional requirements and defining data mapping specifications.
• Migrate data from clients' legacy databases to new system databases, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the process.
• Write and maintain complex SQL and T-SQL scripts to support data migration, transformation, and validation.
• Identify and remove duplicate records from client datasets to improve data quality.
• Collaborate with data warehouse teams on schema changes and database design improvements focused on scalability and performance.
• Investigate data inaccuracies, troubleshoot underlying issues, and develop plans to resolve them.
• Work with clients and business analysts to review and clarify data migration requirements.
• Perform data analysis to support implementation activities and ensure data meets business requirements.
• Contribute to a data-driven culture by developing methods and controls that promote consistent and effective data use across the organization.
• Participate in team stand-ups to review product specifications, project requirements, and progress.
• Provide technical project oversight and communicate data-related findings, challenges, and solutions to relevant stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of proven experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Demonstrated understanding of relational database concepts.
• At least 2 years of hands-on Python experience, including creating and maintaining data pipelines.
• At least 2 years of extensive experience designing, developing, and supporting data warehouse environments.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
• Strong client relationship skills and the ability to deliver business value through technical solutions.
• Ability to communicate data, context, and implications clearly to both business and technical stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or customer relationship management (CRM) software.
