About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join Fidelity's Asset Management Technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing sophisticated data engineering solutions that support critical investment decision-making processes. You will work with a talented group of professionals to design, implement, and optimize data platforms that handle multi-terabyte data sets, ensuring seamless data flow, integrity, and accessibility. Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing high-quality data engineering solutions
• Strong background in software development within the Financial Industry
• Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL development, SQL scripting, and database performance tuning
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica and data warehousing platforms like Snowflake
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques, including transactional, data mart, and data warehouse structures
• Basic proficiency in Java, Python, REST API, and AWS is advantageous
• Experience with DevOps practices including Maven, Jenkins, Git, and Docker
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Kanban and SCRUM
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to independently troubleshoot technical challenges and develop innovative solutions
• Willingness to participate in after-hours, on-call support for production systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures for investment data platforms
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity across various systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement data solutions that meet business needs
• Utilize ETL tools and data warehousing platforms to streamline data processing workflows
• Implement best practices in DevOps for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of data solutions
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the team
• Contribute to the development of innovative data models and analytical tools for investment decision-making
• Support production environments through on-call rotations, incident response, and troubleshooting
