- Role: Data & AI Engineer / Developer

- Location: Montreal: 3 days a week on-site
- Hiring Mode: Contract (Long-Term)
Pay: CAD 65/Hr.
We are seeking a highly skilled Data & AI Engineer with expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Python, Cloud Technologies, and AI-powered development tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable data solutions, developing data pipelines, and leveraging modern AI platforms such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot to enhance productivity, automation, and business outcomes.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize data solutions using Snowflake as the primary cloud data platform.
- Create and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data models to support reporting and analytics needs.
- Develop scalable data processing, automation, and integration solutions using Python.
- Build and manage cloud-based data architectures, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Utilize AI technologies, including Claude and Microsoft Copilot, to accelerate development, automate workflows, improve code quality, and enhance knowledge management.
- Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, security, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues while continuously improving existing processes and solutions.
- Stay current with emerging cloud, data engineering, and AI technologies to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse and related data engineering concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, optimization, and analysis.
- Strong programming skills in Python for data processing, automation, scripting, and API integrations.
- Experience working with Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of AI/Generative AI technologies and practical experience using tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot.
- Understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and analytics solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into business or data engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with machine learning, LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted software development.
- Relevant certifications in Snowflake, Cloud Platforms, or AI technologies are a plus.
