Data Engineer

One of our clients is looking for an experienced Data Engineer - Dallas, TX (Hybrid) for a contract or fulltime opportunity.

• Work Authorization: Any visa is fine but need genuine profiles only. Passport Number is mandatory for all visa holders except US Citizens.
• Engagement options: 1099 or W2 only.
• Project Terms: Contract, Fulltime or Contract-to-hire possible.
• Local Dallas candidates and those available for a face-to-face (F2F) interview will be given first preference.

• Required Skills
• 7+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining production ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake, Databricks Jobs/Workflows, SQL, and PySpark.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data engineering and transformation.
• Direct experience working with PHI, healthcare, or other regulated/sensitive data, with a solid understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
• Experience building HIPAA-compliant data pipelines, including secure ingestion, transformation, de-identification/tokenization, controlled data sharing, and auditability.
• Strong understanding of data governance and access controls, including least privilege, minimum necessary access, permissions, groups, and row- and column-level security.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks Unity Catalog for data governance and fine-grained access control.
• Experience implementing audit logging, encryption at rest/in transit, data classification, and regulated-data access controls.
• Experience with Git/version control and collaborative development practices.
• Ability to work with compliance, legal, and business teams to translate regulatory and data-use requirements into technical controls.
• Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential and regulated data.
