Data Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading utilities provider, is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong experience in Dataiku DSS and Azure data services to design, build, and optimize enterprise data pipelines and curated data layers.

This role is foundational to a broader analytics modernization initiative, supporting financial reporting, capital project analytics, and future safety analytics. The Data Engineer will help build a modern, cloud-enabled data environment that delivers trusted, high-quality data across the organization.

• Required Qualifications
• 3–6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Dataiku DSS, including flows, recipes, scenarios, automation, and governance features.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, processing, and workflow automation.
• Experience with Azure data services, such as ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT design, data modeling, and data quality principles.
• Experience integrating and transforming data from a variety of enterprise source systems.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting or deploying machine learning workflows in Dataiku.
• Familiarity with data governance practices and metadata management tools.
• Experience working in hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps concepts.
• Experience within the utilities or energy industry is beneficial but not required.
