About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join Bet365's AI & Automation department, a team dedicated to transforming complex data into intelligent, scalable solutions. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and evolving the company’s critical data infrastructure, transitioning from traditional SQL Server environments to modern Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver regulatory data projects, automate processes, and develop innovative data solutions that support Bet365’s strategic objectives. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data engineering, with proven experience in SQL Server and cloud-based platforms. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in SQL Server 2014 or later, with extensive experience developing stored procedures and reports. Familiarity with the MSSQL BI Stack, including SSRS and SSIS, is essential. Exposure to Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery and Looker, is highly desirable. Knowledge of source control platforms such as Gitlab will be advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team are critical for success in this role. Prior experience with automation tools and AI-powered development aids will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of regulatory data projects, from requirements gathering to implementation. You will design, develop, and maintain robust T-SQL stored procedures and SSRS reports to support core business operations. Shadow senior colleagues to gain hands-on experience with GCP environments, with a clear pathway toward independent cloud development. Leverage AI-powered tools proactively to accelerate development cycles and streamline coding tasks, ensuring efficient project delivery. Investigate and resolve complex data issues promptly to maintain high data integrity and minimize disruptions to critical processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide regular status updates, manage project timelines, and ensure deliverables align with business needs. Additionally, contribute to the company's knowledge base by helping to evolve development standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all data solutions. You will also participate in continuous learning initiatives to stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and cloud computing.
