About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join Bet365's dynamic AI & Automation department. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and evolving the company's critical data infrastructure, transitioning from traditional SQL Server environments to a modern Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement scalable data solutions that support regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in cloud technologies, automation, and data management within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL Server 2014 or later, with strong experience in writing complex stored procedures and optimizing queries.
  • Knowledge of the MSSQL BI Stack, including SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, and Looker.
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as GitLab or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Previous exposure to automation tools and AI-powered development environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of regulatory data projects, from gathering requirements to deployment and post-implementation support.
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust T-SQL stored procedures and SSRS reports to support core business operations, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
  • Shadow senior colleagues to gain hands-on experience with GCP environments, progressing towards independent cloud-based development.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools proactively to accelerate development cycles, automate routine tasks, and enhance coding efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve complex data issues promptly to maintain high data integrity and minimize disruptions to critical processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including product managers, analysts, and developers, to provide regular updates and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and documentation to promote consistency and quality across all data solutions.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve data infrastructure and workflows.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package ranging from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits to support your physical and mental well-being.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning through training and mentorship programs.
  • Flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance.
  • Inclusive and diverse work environment that values innovation and collaboration.
  • Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools to support your growth and success in the role.
  • Participation in a global company with a strong presence in the betting and gaming industry.
