  • Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer
  • Long-term contract role with a leading investment management firm.
  • Hybrid work environment - NJ (3 days/week onsite)

  • Microsoft Fabric, Python, SQL, Data Engineering, Data Modeling, ETL/ELT, Power BI
  • What You Will Do
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Build scalable, reliable, and high-performing data pipelines supporting analytics and reporting initiatives.
  • Design and optimize data models for reporting, analytics, and downstream applications.
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and validation across multiple enterprise data sources.
  • Develop ELT/ETL workflows using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory and related Fabric services.
  • Optimize data ingestion, storage, and processing performance.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Implement data quality, governance, and security best practices.
  • Partner with BI developers and data consumers to deliver trusted enterprise datasets.
  • Troubleshoot pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
  • Recommend best practices for Microsoft Fabric architecture and implementation.
  • What You Will Need
  • 1-2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience in production environments.
  • Strong experience designing and managing enterprise-scale data pipelines.
  • Expertise in data modeling, data integration, and data cleansing techniques.
  • Advanced Python development experience for automation and data engineering.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience optimizing complex queries.
  • Experience working with large enterprise datasets.
  • Experience designing scalable cloud-based data solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and data quality practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, consulting mindset.
  • Nice to Have
  • Microsoft Fabric certifications (strongly preferred).
  • DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate).
  • DP-700 (if applicable).
  • Power BI experience.
  • Azure Data Factory.
  • Lakehouse architecture.
  • Data Warehouse implementation.
  • Financial Services experience.
  • Experience with Spark, PySpark, or notebooks within Fabric.
