About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Jr. Data Engineer to join the Digital Platform Execution team remotely on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the development, maintenance, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions. Collaborating closely with senior engineers and business stakeholders, you will help manage complex data infrastructure, build efficient data workflows, and facilitate business intelligence and analytics initiatives. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL development, or analytics engineering
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure environments
  • Proficiency with Azure Databricks for data transformation, workflow development, and optimization
  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL for data processing, automation, and analytics
  • Experience working with structured and semi-structured data sources
  • Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and modern data architecture concepts
  • Experience with Azure data services such as Data Factory, Azure SQL, Data Lake Storage, or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with source control tools and Agile development practices (Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bonus: Experience with PySpark, Power BI, AI/ML pipelines, or industry-specific knowledge in energy/utilities

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Python, and SQL
  • Build and optimize data workflows to support analytics, reporting, and artificial intelligence/machine learning initiatives
  • Support the ingestion, transformation, and integration of data from multiple enterprise sources
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and efficient data solutions
  • Monitor data quality, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and implement process improvements to ensure reliable data delivery
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies to promote best practices
  • Document data processes, workflows, and technical solutions for future reference and team knowledge sharing
