Data Engineer Internship Position

Role Description This Data Engineer Internship position is a hybrid role based in California, United States, with a combination of on-site work and flexible work-from-home arrangements. The intern will assist in building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making in a skilled nursing and assisted living environment. Day-to-day tasks may include supporting data extraction from various systems, transforming and loading data into centralized repositories, helping design and refine data models, and ensuring data quality and consistency. The intern will collaborate with data analysts, clinical teams, and operations staff to understand data needs and contribute to dashboards and reports. This is an internship role designed to provide practical, supervised experience in healthcare data engineering.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline.

• Candidates should possess foundational skills in Data Engineering and Data Modeling, with an interest in applying these skills in a healthcare setting.
• Candidates should possess skills in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and Data Warehousing to support reliable data integration and storage.
• Candidates should possess Data Analytics skills to assist in interpreting data, supporting reports, and contributing to performance and quality metrics.
• Candidates should possess basic proficiency in relevant programming or query languages (such as SQL, Python, or similar) for working with data.
• Candidates should possess strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to document processes clearly.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and follow data privacy and security guidelines.
• Enrollment in or completion of coursework in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred; prior exposure to healthcare or regulated industries is a plus.
• API Integration and Web Application OR Microsoft Power Application development exposure is a plus.

Pay Rate : $25.00/Hour
