Data Engineer - dbt

Role Description

This is a remote contract role for a Data Engineer specializing in dbt. The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to support analytics and digital twinning solutions. Typical responsibilities include implementing dbt models, orchestrating ETL processes, optimizing data warehousing structures, and ensuring data quality and reliability across environments. The role involves close collaboration with data analysts, product teams, and engineering stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data models. The Data Engineer will also monitor data workflows, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to best practices for documentation, testing, and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Strong Data Engineering skills, including experience building and maintaining data pipelines and working with dbt.
• Proficiency in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing to design scalable, well-structured analytical data stores.
• Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and Data Analytics to support reporting and insights.
• Working knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language (such as Python) for data processing and automation.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and modern data stack tools is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Background in computer science, data engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
