Data Engineer Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintains and administers data warehouse environment and related ETL objects, and dimensional models.
- Designs, develops, and tests objects and code for data warehouse environment.
- Leads strategy for data design principles and structures, following industry best practices.
- Provides cross-training, mentorship and documentation to team members for data warehouse.
- Liaison between Caron and vendor(s) for data warehouse external support and efforts with escalation to 3rd party support when needed.
- Creates goals and objectives by studying business needs, gathering information, and determining requirements. Mutually agree on requirements and objectives with all stakeholders.
- Make recommendations to improve efficiency and operational success.
- Prepares reports in Power BI by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Upgrade and implement applications and systems, after all planning and testing has been completed. Complete required pre-and post-documentation.
- Work collaboratively with SME’s to successfully implement solutions and provide level 2 support as needed.
- Improve systems by studying current practices, developing and uncovering use cases with stakeholders, and designing modifications.
- Manage projects by defining project requirements, identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project teams; establishing project budget. Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions. Manage projects using proven project management methodologies.
- Maintains system best-practices by writing and updating processes to ensure the data warehouse environment and other data flows are stable and supportable
- Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

- Requires manual dexterity skills to include repetitive use of hands and fingers.
- Requires the ability to ambulate throughout the assigned facilities on campus
- Requires ability to stand, walk and sit for up to four hours at a time.
- Requires repetitive bending and reaching up to eight hours a day.
- Must be able to lift approximately 15 pounds to waist or 15 pounds overhead.
- Will require travel, as required.
Education / Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
- A minimum of 4 years’ hands-on as Subject Matter Expert implementing, specifying, developing or supporting a Datawarehouse, dimensional modeling and ETL and a demonstrated success with client support and satisfaction is required
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with Power BI, SQL, Azure Data Factory API integrations, or similar equivalent tools.
- Project management experience in health care environment or Project Management Professional certification is preferred
- If in recovery, 1 year of continuous sobriety is preferred.
Additional Qualifications
Collaboration using tools such as teams, SharePoint. Experience in managing projects using project management methodologies. Proven software support and implementation experience, Microsoft SQL Server, Office including Project, Business Intelligence software, Data Analysis, Software Design, Software Documentation, Software Development Process, Software Requirements, Analyzing Information, Teamwork, Software Maintenance, Written Communication, Project Management, System Controls, Promoting Process Improvement.

- Excellent verbal and written skills are required.
- Must be able to work independently or as a member of an interactive team.
- Must be able to conduct him/herself in a professional manner.
- Must be committed to providing outstanding customer service.
- Must have the ability to organize workloads based on internal and external goals and objectives.
