Your expertise will help develop embedded reporting experiences, enabling pool professionals and other users to understand their data better and grow their businesses. This position requires a proactive, autonomous individual with a strong technical background who can collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate complex data needs into actionable insights.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data engineering, with a demonstrated ability to manage data infrastructure end-to-end.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in Python for data transformation, automation, and scripting tasks.
  • Experience working with managed ingestion and transformation tools such as Fivetran, dbt, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, ELT/ETL best practices, and data architecture.
  • Experience building data models and reports within BI/analytics platforms, especially Sigma Computing, with a focus on embedded customer-facing analytics.
  • Familiarity with application environments like C#/.NET and collaborating with application engineers on source system integration.
  • Ability to work with AI coding tools such as Claude or Cursor to enhance productivity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to decompose complex business problems into structured solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to data quality, troubleshooting, and documentation of data models and architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and transformations that underpin reporting within the Skimmer product.
  • Develop and manage customer-facing data models and reports embedded within the Skimmer application, ensuring accuracy and performance.
  • Manage and extend data ingestion pipelines across multiple sources using Fivetran, ensuring data reliability and consistency.
  • Create and optimize data transformations using Python and SQL against the Snowflake data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate customer needs into reliable, high-performance reporting solutions.
  • Work closely with application engineers to understand source systems and ensure data integrity and quality.
  • Monitor data quality, report performance, and troubleshoot issues proactively to maintain high standards of data reliability.
  • Document data models, definitions, and architecture to support team growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in code reviews and adhere to engineering best practices to maintain high-quality standards.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with bonus potential based on performance.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, with 100% of premiums covered for employees and 50% for dependents.
  • Access to a vibrant company culture that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Immediate eligibility for 401(k) plan with company matching contributions.
  • Flexible paid time off, with a minimum of 10 days required annually.
  • Generous parental leave policies: 12 weeks paid leave for birthing parents and 6 weeks for supporting partners.
  • Remote work flexibility, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Dedicated learning and development budget to support your professional growth.
  • Supportive management committed to your ongoing development and success.
