Data Collection Operator

About the Company

Avanciers INC is seeking detail-oriented Data Collection Operators to execute indoor and outdoor user-study data collection sessions following strict research protocols for one of our Fortune 100 clients at San Diego/ Los Angeles/ Cupertino locations in California.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for participant readiness, setting up and calibrating hardware/sensors, running test protocols, handling data offloads, and logging study metrics to support technical and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Field & User-Study Execution: Conduct structured indoor and outdoor data collection sessions with participants while strictly following established research protocols.
• Hardware & Sensor Setup: Prepare and calibrate sensors, devices, and platforms to ensure session readiness and platform validation.
• Participant Experience: Coordinate participant readiness during study sessions and maintain a high standard of professional interaction.
• Data & Log Management: Perform routine data offloads, document detailed daily run logs, and record data accurately.
• Troubleshooting & Escalation: Identify hardware/software issues, perform basic troubleshooting, and execute operational handoffs or issue escalations to QA and technical teams.

Qualifications

Experience: 0–1 years of relevant work experience in field data collection, protocol execution, or device testing.

Required Skills

• Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with basic device handling, sensor calibration support, and data offload workflows.
• Attention to Detail: Strong discipline in documentation, logging, and tracking issues as they arise.
• Communication: Excellent participant-facing professionalism and clear escalation discipline when reporting to technical stakeholders.
• Work Environment: Ability to work on-site and move comfortably between indoor and outdoor test settings.
