- Role - DCO Consultant
- Location - Montreal (Hybrid)
The purpose of this job is to provide all aspects of Data Centre Operations and provide required guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers or users seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
- Create/acknowledge, follow-up, escalate and resolve incidents/service requests as per procedures within allocated timelines.
- Ensure tickets are always updated until issues are resolved and communicate the progress to the end user client/user.
- Resource should be open to work in rotational shifts.
- Resource should be keen to learn newer things related to technology and domain.
- Resource should be energetic and passionate to drive results for business needs and personal growth in technology and/domain knowledge.
- Perform basic monitoring and troubleshooting activities via Control-M Tool; NetBackup Tool; OBM [Operation Bridge Manager]; Mail sweeper; Discovery Accelerator; HPE3PAR; NASTEL MQ Series; BlackBerry; V-Sphere; AD [Active Directory]; SEP [ Symantec END Point Protection for Servers and Workstations] etc.
- Resource should have good Knowledge about OBM and METIS/Service Now for the Incidents/Changes/Requests/Problems.
- Resource if has additional knowledge about IT Infrastructure like patching Unix/Windows and SimpliVity; Network Topology and basic knowledge for database [SQL/Oracle/Sybase]; storage like SAN; NAS; backups like StoreOnce; NetBackup would be an added advantage.
- Performing Morning Report checks and sharing it across.
- Tape Rotation/Restore via the mentioned procedures.
- Adhere to and enforce Security and Corporate policies related to usage of IT hardware/software.
- Co-ordination with the Different Teams and with the Data Centre Teams while opening cases for them and taking update from them and sharing to specific teams.
- Keep the work area and IT storage well organized and clutter free.
- Perform ad-hoc/project-related tasks and additional responsibilities assigned by the DCO manager. Prepare and publish various IT reports on an ad-hoc and/or regular basis.
- Create and/or maintain/update technical Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents.
- Liaise effectively while maintaining good working relationships with various internal/external IT teams and vendors.
- Qualifications we seek in you!
- Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate or postgraduate in Technology with Computers or Information Technology (IT) stream.
- Or
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related qualification.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting.
- Technical and system expertise in relevant IT workstreams.
- Good problem-resolving abilities, communication skills (written and verbal), time administration and management, and the team partnership and collaboration.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with users and IT staff in implementation of new functionality and solving problems.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Capability to coordinate and execute tasks assigned.
