Data Center Installation Technician - Level 1

Job Summary

We are seeking multiple Level 1 Data Center Technicians to support the installation of structured cabling infrastructure within a large-scale data center in. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or advance a career in the data center industry. Previous data center experience is not required. Candidates should be dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable using a computer, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Install structured cabling in a structured data center environment.
• Perform cable routing, installation, and patching activities.
• Install and connect pre-configured equipment racks.
• Assist with troubleshooting cabling and connectivity issues.
• Utilize the Boost tracking system to document work and update project status.
• Follow established installation standards and quality procedures.
• Adhere to all site safety, security, and operational procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Required Qualificatications
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with structured cabling or low-voltage installations.
• Previous data center, telecommunications, or construction experience.
• Experience with fiber optic installation or splicing is a plus but not required.

• Work Environment
• On-site at a large-scale data center construction project.
• Hot and dusty construction environment.
• Must comply with all site safety and security requirements.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.
• Ability to work safely in an active construction environment.
