Data Center Engineer

Company Description dSaaS is a US-based, employee-owned deep technology company focused on building ultra-low-cost, low-latency compute fabrics for automated agentic workloads and CI/CD pipelines.

Role Description This is a contract, on-site Data Center Engineer role located in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area. The Data Center Engineer will support daily data center operations, including monitoring systems, managing hardware installations, and ensuring uptime and reliability. Responsibilities include performing physical cabling, racking and stacking equipment, providing remote access to devices, and coordinating with internal technical teams for maintenance and upgrades. The role also involves troubleshooting hardware and infrastructure issues, providing hands-on technical support, and documenting procedures and changes to maintain accurate records. The engineer will follow established safety and security protocols while contributing to continuous improvement of data center efficiency and performance.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Data Center Operations and Data Center Infrastructure to manage and maintain critical systems.
• Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting and Technical Support to diagnose and resolve hardware and infrastructure issues efficiently.
• Candidates should possess skills in Cabling to perform structured cabling, racking, and physical connectivity tasks within the data center.
• Experience with server, storage, and network hardware in production environments is beneficial.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and change management processes is preferred.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as needed, and to work safely in a data center environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.
• Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Network+, or vendor-specific credentials) are a plus.

• -can factory reset hardware
• -can rack, power, and network a new device without guidance
• -has some troubleshooting capability, in case remote access is unavailable
• -can configure IP, subnet, gateway on linux and/or network devices

We are not using AI to filter candidates. This position will report to Director of Infrastructure. This is a 1099 contract position. There is potential for full time hire for the right candidate, in roughly 6 month timeline.
