Role Description The Data Center Acquisition Manager is a full-time, role based in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring powered data center development sites and in targeted strategic markets. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying prospective properties, conducting due diligence on power availability, zoning, and permitting. The role involves collaborating with in house legal, engineering, and development teams, and maintaining relationships with utilities, landowners, brokers, and local authorities. The Data Center Acquisition Manager will also monitor market trends, contribute to acquisition strategy, and provide regular reporting on pipeline status and deal progress.
Qualifications
Relevant experience in data center real estate, site selection, land acquisition, or commercial real estate transactions, preferably within digital infrastructure or energy-focused projects.
Knowledge of data center requirements (power, cooling, connectivity), land use, zoning, permitting processes, and utility and interconnection considerations.
Effective management capabilities, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with utilities, landowners, brokers, and government entities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings, prepare reports, and collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCIM, real estate license) are a plus.
Prior experience in data center development, high-performance computing infrastructure, or large-scale industrial projects is strongly preferred.
