About The Role

The Senior Data Analyst will serve as the key driver of the company's reporting and analytics functions. As the sole Data Analyst within the organization, this role acts as an internal analytics consultant, partnering with cross-functional teams to transform complex data sets into actionable insights. The successful candidate will analyze various data sources, including business operations, customer behavior, mobile telemetry, and security events, to support strategic decision-making, measure product performance, and identify emerging trends. Additionally, this role involves contributing to financial reporting processes such as quarter-end closes, invoicing, and reconciliation activities. The ideal candidate will possess advanced SQL skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills to effectively translate data findings into meaningful business recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience delivering analytics or business intelligence solutions in technology, mobile applications, cybersecurity, or similar environments
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with experience working with complex relational datasets
  • Experience with AWS Athena or similar cloud-based analytical query engines
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling principles
  • Advanced experience with Tableau or equivalent BI platforms
  • Proficiency in analyzing large-scale datasets in cloud environments
  • Experience analyzing software product telemetry, application usage, or operational event data
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices
  • Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis, automation, and data exploration preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights clearly
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance executive dashboards and operational reports using Tableau
  • Analyze key business metrics such as revenue, customer growth, subscriptions, retention, and product adoption
  • Evaluate mobile application telemetry, customer behavior, and feature usage data to inform product development
  • Monitor security event data to identify threats, trends, anomalies, and evaluate product effectiveness
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Engineering, and Security teams to address analytical needs
  • Define and track KPIs, monitor trends, and identify opportunities for operational and strategic improvements
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Write efficient SQL queries in AWS Athena to extract and analyze large datasets stored in Amazon S3
  • Integrate data from multiple internal systems to develop comprehensive reporting solutions
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports and analyses
  • Document data sources, business rules, report definitions, and analytical methodologies
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and analytical processes
  • Continuously improve the company’s reporting and analytics capabilities, becoming a trusted internal partner
