- Data Analyst
- Location: Foster City, CA
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Pay Rate: $30–$40/hour on W2
- Contract: 3 months initially, with potential extension
- Potential Conversion: Possible FTE conversion based on business needs and available headcount
- About the Opportunity
- We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support CBRE's science/pharma client in Foster City, CA. This role combines data analysis and reporting with data validation, documentation, and physical verification activities within a laboratory environment.
- The ideal candidate is highly proficient with Excel, comfortable working with large datasets, extremely detail-oriented, and willing to learn new systems and processes. Candidates with experience in pharma, biotech, life sciences, laboratory operations, asset management, or equipment tracking are encouraged to apply.
- Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, validate, and maintain large datasets from multiple sources.
- Perform data entry, data cleansing, reconciliation, and quality checks.
- Aggregate data and coordinate reporting using existing tools and applications.
- Conduct physical verification of assets, equipment, and related information.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and support data-driven business decisions.
- Help organize, standardize, and improve existing data processes.
- Verify the quality and integrity of data sources.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate findings clearly.
- Provide strong internal/customer service and follow established processes.
- Work safely within a laboratory environment and follow required safety procedures, including wearing a lab coat and goggles when applicable.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets.
- Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources.
- Experience with data analysis, validation, quality, or reconciliation.
- Comfortable working in a laboratory/science environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and tools.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Smartsheet.
- Experience with SP Asset Management System.
- Pharma, pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences experience.
- Laboratory operations or lab-services experience.
- Asset management or equipment tracking experience.
- Inventory management or physical verification experience.
- Experience with laboratory equipment or scientific assets.
