Data Analyst - Remote Contract

• Position Summary
• The Business Data Analyst is responsible for delivering data-driven solutions that improve business processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role combines business analytics, technical solution development, and project delivery.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop scalable reporting and automation solutions, and support initiatives that reduce reliance on manual processes. The role will also play an important part in exploring new technologies and capabilities that unlock additional value from the organization's data assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Analytics Solution Delivery
• Support the design and implementation of analytics solutions that improve business processes and decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business needs into effective data solutions.
• Participate in the delivery of analytics and process improvement projects from concept through implementation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort through automation.
• Data & Reporting Development
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that provide actionable business insights.
• Build and enhance data models that support scalable, enterprise-ready reporting solutions.
• Develop SQL queries and data transformation processes to integrate and prepare data from multiple sources.
• Process Automation & Technical Solutions
• Develop and support solutions using Power Query, SharePoint Lists, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
• Help replace spreadsheet-based reporting and workflows with sustainable, scalable business solutions.
• Contribute to the development of self-service reporting and data management capabilities.
• Support data quality, validation, and process documentation efforts.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Explore emerging technologies and analytics capabilities that can create business value.
• Evaluate new approaches to solving business challenges using data, automation, and modern analytics tools.
• Stay current on Microsoft data and Power Platform technologies and share best practices within the team.

• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in business analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or data-focused roles.
• Strong Power BI development skills, including report development and data modelling.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets from multiple sources.
• Experience using Power Query for data preparation and transformation.
• Experience with SharePoint Lists, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
• Understanding of relational databases, data structures, and data modelling concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Retail, or Sales Analytics environments.
• Experience building automated reporting and workflow solutions that reduce manual effort.
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Dataverse, or other cloud-based data environments.
• Experience working with syndicated, financial, sales, or customer data.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and analytics tools.
