About The Role
The Payments Data Analyst III at Huntington Bank will play a critical role in supporting the B2C platform within the Enterprise Payments ChoicePay division. This position involves delivering comprehensive data-driven solutions by collaborating effectively with back-office teams, front-line staff, vendors, and executive leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed reports, analyzing complex payment processes, and identifying opportunities for operational improvements. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data analytics, with proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and Excel, and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in data analytics or related fields. A strong background in SQL for data extraction and manipulation is essential, along with expertise in Tableau for data visualization and reporting. Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and macros, are required to handle complex data sets effectively. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey analytical insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders. A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Technology, or a related discipline is typically required; however, equivalent professional experience may be considered. Experience working within the banking or financial services sector is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights into payment processes and performance metrics.
- Analyze payment data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for operational enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, technology, and vendor partners to streamline payment workflows and improve overall efficiency.
- Support the implementation of new payment solutions and ensure data integrity across platforms.
- Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets to support business decision-making.
- Create compelling visualizations using Tableau to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders at various levels.
- Assist in the development of automation processes to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements related to payments and data analytics.
- Provide training and support to team members on data tools and reporting standards.
