Data Analyst II

## About the Role

First Citizens is seeking an **Enterprise Data Analyst II** to lead Bank initiatives focused on enterprise data quality, data governance, reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement. This advanced-level role uses technical expertise and cross-functional partnership to improve how enterprise data is managed, analyzed, documented, and used across the organization.

The successful candidate will provide expert consultation on data management strategies, enhance Enterprise Data Warehouse capabilities, develop analytics dashboards, support data quality validation, and maintain technical documentation. The role may also provide guidance to less experienced consultants.

## Key Responsibilities

• - Identify and implement enhancements to the quality, management, and storage of enterprise data.
• - Execute initiatives involving data profiling, exception reporting, issue resolution, and Enterprise Data Warehouse fixes.
• - Build dashboards to modernize analytics where appropriate.
• - Enforce enterprise data policies and procedures.
• - Gather associate feedback to identify opportunities to improve data management capabilities.
• - Complete month-end validations of reporting data to verify quality and completeness before business use.
• - Facilitate initiatives that strengthen the Bank's data management capabilities.
• - Assist management with business plans designed to achieve organizational objectives.
• - Monitor current and emerging technologies and trends affecting the financial services industry.
• - Create and maintain technical documentation for the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
• - Maintain source-to-target mappings, data dictionaries, and related data documentation.
• - Provide expert consultation to team members, Information Technology, and other stakeholders on data management strategies.
• - Collaborate cross-functionally to drive technical innovation and continuous improvement.

## Required Qualifications

• - **Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience** in Data Management, Financial Analysis, or a similar field; **OR**
• - **High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience** in Data Management, Financial Analysis, or a similar field.
• - Understanding of **data warehousing and data transformation methods**.
• - Understanding of **data lineage documentation and ETL processes**.
• - Knowledge of data spreadsheets and databases.
• - Understanding of **Base SAS programming, SAS Enterprise Guide, Cognos, or related programs**.
• - Experience with **IBM InfoSphere Information Management Suite or similar technology**.

## Preferred Qualifications

• - Experience as a strong data analyst in an **Agile environment**.
• - Deep expertise and **15+ years of experience** in data analysis, data warehousing, and analytics.
• - Broad experience with data warehousing, business-process documentation, data governance, and data integration.
• - Hands-on data analysis and profiling experience.
• - Advanced **PL/SQL** skills.
• - Excellent presentation, listening, and writing skills, with the ability to lead workstreams independently.
• - Experience with data modeling, data analysis, data visualization, APIs, and real-time services.
• - Hands-on understanding of both **waterfall and Agile development practices**.
• - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
