About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Finance Data Analyst to join our Los Angeles, California office. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Accounting Systems and Data Governance, this role is pivotal in leading the analysis, governance, validation, and integration of finance data across multiple systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Accounting, Finance, Technology, and Business Units to establish trusted data standards, enhance SOX-relevant controls, resolve data quality issues, and support system and interface changes. This position combines hands-on data analysis with leadership in process and control management to ensure that finance data is accurate, complete, timely, traceable, and reliable for downstream use. Success in this role will be measured by improvements in data quality, effective control execution, and the seamless delivery of finance data changes across the system landscape.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in finance data, accounting systems, financial systems analysis, or data governance roles
  • Strong understanding of accounting data flows and financial reporting requirements
  • Hands-on experience with finance data governance, including data definitions, ownership, lineage, and quality controls
  • Experience designing, supporting, or executing SOX controls over financial systems and data
  • Advanced SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and large dataset analysis
  • Knowledge of system integration, data transformation, and interface controls including APIs and file-based integrations
  • Experience leading or supporting system change initiatives, including requirements gathering, UAT, cutover, and post-implementation validation
  • Proficiency with ERP and finance platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or Concur
  • Strong analytical judgment with the ability to translate accounting and reporting requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field; certifications such as CPA, CISA are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain comprehensive finance data definitions, ownership, lineage, and governance standards across source systems and reporting environments
  • Design and implement data validation routines, reconciliations, exception monitoring, and root cause analysis to enhance data accuracy and completeness
  • Partner with control owners to design, document, and improve SOX controls over finance data, interfaces, reports, and change activities
  • Support system integration efforts by defining data requirements, validation criteria, and coordinating testing, cutover, and validation activities
  • Lead or support system change initiatives, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and post-implementation validation
  • Assess impacts of data and process changes, develop communication plans, and lead cross-functional issue resolution to ensure smooth adoption
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, controls, and audit evidence to support compliance and audit activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve data quality, controls, and system efficiencies
