Role Description The Data Analyst is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting microbiology research projects through data collection, processing, and analysis. Daily tasks include cleaning and organizing experimental and observational datasets, performing statistical analyses, and developing data models to interpret microbial behavior and ecological patterns. The role involves creating clear visualizations and reports for researchers, communicating findings to scientific teams, and contributing to publications and grant proposals. The Data Analyst will collaborate closely with microbiologists and other specialists to ensure data integrity, reproducibility, and effective use of quantitative methods in ongoing studies.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and experience in Data Analytics for handling complex scientific datasets.
Candidates should possess proficiency in Statistics for hypothesis testing, experimental design, and quantitative interpretation of microbiological data.
Candidates should possess capabilities in Data Modeling to structure, simulate, and predict patterns in microbial and ecological systems.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to explain technical results to interdisciplinary teams and prepare clear reports or presentations.
Familiarity with statistical software or programming languages (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB) and data visualization tools is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, microbiology, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
Experience working with biological or environmental data, and an understanding of research workflows, is an advantage.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects, and maintain high standards of data quality and documentation.
