- 2. About the Opportunity:
- The Cybersecurity Incident Response Triage Analyst role is essential to identifying and managing cybersecurity incidents. The position involves analyzing alerts and notifications, determining the validity of potential threats, and coordinating responses to mitigate risks. This role supports the incident response team by ensuring timely and accurate triage of security events, directly impacting the security posture of federal operations.
- 3. Responsibilities:
- • Monitor and respond to cybersecurity incidents related to policy violations.
- • Analyze and investigate incidents to determine their nature and scope.
- • Coordinate with incident response teams for effective incident resolution.
- • Document incidents and response activities in detail.
- • Stay informed about cybersecurity threats and trends.
- • Assist in developing and refining incident response strategies.
- • Collaborate with Operations, Legal, Human Resources, and Management to investigate security issues and verify incident validity.
- 4. Requirements:
- • U.S. citizenship required.
- • 1–2 years of experience in information security or equivalent education/work experience.
- • At least 1 year of experience analyzing events and logs involving security tools such as antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, Active Directory, web proxies, and SIEM solutions.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- • Familiarity with network- and host-based security applications and tools.
- • Understanding of TCP/IP, application-layer protocols, and packet analysis.
- • Basic knowledge of malware analysis concepts.
- • Experience with indicators of attack and indicators of compromise.
- • Familiarity with Windows/Linux architecture and endpoint analysis.
- • Proficiency with data analysis and parsing tools such as Excel, grep, sed, awk, and regular expressions (regex).
- 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- • The pay range for this role in specified states and cities is $57,200–$109,400 USD.
