Role: Cyber Security Incident Response Analyst
Location: Jacksonville, FL / JAX Time Zone
Work Type: Contract / T&M
Bill Rate: $80/hr
Role Overview
The Incident Response team is seeking a Cyber Security Incident Response Analyst to serve as a first-line responder for security events and alerts. The primary focus will be on cybersecurity monitoring, incident triage, investigation, escalation, and response activities.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and respond to security events and alerts.
Perform initial incident identification, assessment, and triage.
Investigate potential security incidents and determine appropriate response actions.
Escalate confirmed or suspicious incidents according to established procedures.
Analyze indicators of compromise and common attack techniques.
Support security incident response and cyber defense activities.
Work with security teams and stakeholders to resolve security events.
Manage multiple security incidents and activities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Maintain effective communication and documentation throughout the incident lifecycle.
Collaborate with global teams across different operational shifts.
Required Skills & Experience
Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Incident Response, Cyber Defense, or Security Monitoring environment.
Hands-on knowledge of:
Security Incident Triage
Incident Investigation
Incident Escalation
Security Monitoring
Cyber Defense
Understanding of common cyber threats and attack techniques.
Knowledge of Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
Understanding of security controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
Experience managing multiple security activities simultaneously.
Experience working with global teams and shift-based operations.
