About The Role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-oriented Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our dynamic team in Springfield, VA. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for protecting mission-critical systems by proactively identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats in a fast-paced operational environment. You will serve as a technical leader within the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC), providing expert support in incident response, threat detection, and security monitoring. Your expertise will contribute directly to the resilience and security posture of our clients’ digital infrastructure. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned cybersecurity professional to apply their skills in a meaningful way, supporting national security and operational excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education and experience aligned with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or 4+ years of additional cyber experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, specifically in incident response, malware detection, and threat analysis.
• Active IAT Level II certification such as GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security.
• Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Working knowledge of current Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) cybersecurity technologies, along with familiarity with database and operating system security concepts.
• Comprehensive understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols to effectively identify and mitigate threats.

Responsibilities

The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of critical tasks, including but not limited to:

• Providing leadership and advanced support within the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC), managing cyber and network sensor activities to ensure continuous monitoring and threat detection.
• Performing security event and incident correlation by analyzing data from multiple enterprise sources to identify potential threats.
• Conducting cyber incident triage to assess scope, urgency, and potential impact, while identifying vulnerabilities and recommending effective remediation strategies.
• Tracking cyber incidents from initial detection through resolution, analyzing the potential damage to data and infrastructure, and documenting lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Performing cyber engineering trend analysis, producing detailed reports, and supporting 24x7 mission operations to maintain high levels of security readiness.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams—including network engineers, system administrators, and management—to enhance monitoring capabilities and response strategies.
