About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our Information Security team. This remote role, based in North Carolina, involves supporting our Cyber Threat Management programs and ensuring the security of our networks and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM), with the ability to evaluate technical security gaps and develop effective solutions. You will work closely with IT business partners to implement industry best practices, oversee access controls, and facilitate the defense of our technological infrastructure against emerging threats. Additionally, this role includes mentoring less experienced team members and contributing to special projects that enhance our security posture.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree with at least six years of experience in Information Security, or a High School Diploma or GED with ten years of relevant experience. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in a heavily regulated environment such as banking, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks like NIST and COBIT. Candidates should have a general knowledge of application security management across various platforms including Mainframe, Windows, Linux/Unix, Oracle, DB2, and Cloud Technologies. Basic programming, data analytics, and reporting skills are desirable but not mandatory. A proven ability to analyze complex security issues and develop strategic solutions is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive cybersecurity and access management assessments for large-scale IT systems. You will collaborate with IT business partners to design and implement identity and access management processes that comply with cybersecurity policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Ensuring the effective adoption and execution of controls such as privileged identity management, account security, and periodic access reviews is critical. You will provide end-to-end support to facilitate smooth implementation and ongoing management of access controls. Additionally, you will oversee and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring consistency in security practices. Your role also involves developing process improvements and technical solutions to address identified security gaps, as well as reporting on emerging threats and escalating issues as necessary to maintain the organization’s security integrity.
