About The Role
MANTECH is seeking a motivated, experienced, and customer-focused Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our dynamic team in Springfield, VA. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding critical systems and infrastructure by proactively identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats. You will serve as a key member of our cybersecurity operations, providing expert technical support, incident response leadership, and strategic insights to ensure the resilience and security of our clients’ digital assets. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, applying your technical expertise to protect national security interests and contribute to impactful projects.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education and experience aligned with the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or alternatively, 4+ years of relevant cyber experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of cybersecurity experience, particularly in incident response and malware detection.
- Active IAT Level II certification such as GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of current Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) cybersecurity technologies, along with familiarity with database and operating system security concepts.
- Strong understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks, including but not limited to:
- Providing leadership and advanced support within the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC), managing cyber and network sensor activities to detect and respond to threats effectively.
- Performing security event and incident correlation by analyzing data from multiple enterprise sources to identify potential security breaches.
- Conducting cyber incident triage to assess scope, urgency, and potential impact, while identifying vulnerabilities and recommending appropriate remediation measures.
- Tracking cyber incidents from initial detection through resolution, analyzing potential damage to data and infrastructure, and documenting findings for reporting purposes.
- Performing cyber engineering trend analysis, producing detailed reports, and supporting 24x7 mission operations to maintain continuous security posture.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and management, to ensure ongoing monitoring, response readiness, and continuous improvement of security protocols.
