About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic team in San Diego, California. This position is contingent upon contract award and offers a hybrid work environment, combining approximately 60% on-site and 40% remote work. The successful candidate will serve as a vital member of our cybersecurity team, responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of system security within the program. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the system's security posture aligns with DoD regulations and industry best practices. Your expertise will be instrumental in executing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, developing security documentation, and managing cybersecurity risks to support the program’s operational and security objectives. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to national defense initiatives while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess an active Secret clearance upon hire and have a minimum of eight years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably within the DoD environment. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is required, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Candidates must have hands-on experience with DoD RMF processes, including developing and updating System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Plans (SAPs), and documenting NIST 800-53 security control implementations within eMASS. Certification in DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II is mandatory. Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Requirements Guides (SRGs), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), and ACAS results is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently are critical. The role may require up to 10% travel and the ability to adapt to a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for leading and supporting cybersecurity efforts across all phases of system engineering, deployment, and sustainment. Key responsibilities include executing the RMF process, including system categorization, developing and maintaining SSPs, SAPs, and POA&Ms, and ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53 controls. You will work closely with ISSMs, cybersecurity teams, and external stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and implement mitigation strategies. The role involves reviewing security technical guides, analyzing assessment results, and providing detailed reports on security status and risks. You will assist in answering data calls, TASKORDS/OPORDS, and support RMF authorization activities by tracking progress and reporting status updates. Additionally, you will help incorporate cybersecurity findings into system documentation and coordinate risk mitigation efforts across teams, ensuring continuous improvement of the security posture.
