About The Role
The Senior Credit Risk Analyst position within the Capital Quantification team at FCC offers a unique opportunity to influence and shape the organization’s understanding of credit risk, capital, and risk-adjusted performance. This role involves leading complex analytical projects that inform strategic decision-making related to new products, portfolio risk, capital allocation, and overall risk management. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, translating technical modeling outputs into clear, actionable insights. They will play a pivotal role in identifying emerging risks, assessing portfolio vulnerabilities, and supporting the organization’s risk management framework through advanced scenario analysis and stress testing.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in quantitative analysis, financial risk management, and data analytics. A degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field is required. Significant experience in credit risk, capital management, or advanced analytics within a financial institution is essential. Familiarity with expected loss, economic capital, and portfolio credit risk concepts, especially in the context of IFRS 9 and OSFI’s Capital Adequacy Requirements, is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently on complex, ambiguous problems.
Proficiency with analytical tools such as SAS, Python, or similar, along with experience in data visualization platforms like Power BI or QuickSight, is necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical for influencing and collaborating across various functions. While experience within the agriculture or agri-food sector is considered an asset, it is not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Analyze credit risk and capital impacts, including expected loss and economic capital assessments, for new products, programs, and strategic initiatives, ensuring reasonability and conducting sensitivity analyses.
- Lead end-to-end analytical projects independently, from problem framing to delivering clear, actionable recommendations.
- Identify trends, concentrations, and emerging vulnerabilities within FCC’s loan portfolio by leveraging large and complex datasets.
- Develop and interpret forward-looking scenarios and stress tests to support internal capital adequacy assessments, planning, and strategic discussions with senior management.
- Translate complex technical model outputs into understandable insights that facilitate informed decision-making across the organization.
- Facilitate discussions around capital, profitability, and risk-adjusted performance, ensuring alignment across risk, finance, operations, and core banking teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance data quality, analytical processes, and reporting frameworks, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to junior analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous learning.
- Champion best practices in analytics, promote intellectual curiosity, and contribute to ongoing process improvements within the team.
