Credit Research Analyst (CLO Platform)

A leading alternative asset manager is seeking a Credit Analyst to join its CLO platform. This individual will play a key role in underwriting and monitoring leveraged loan investments, supporting portfolio construction, and contributing to investment decisions across CLO vehicles and adjacent credit strategies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental credit analysis on broadly syndicated loans, including full financial modeling, industry research, and downside scenario analysis
• Evaluate primary and secondary investment opportunities across leveraged loans to support CLO portfolio construction
• Monitor existing portfolio holdings, including earnings updates, rating agency actions, and relevant market developments
• Generate and present investment recommendations to Portfolio Managers and Investment Committee
• Perform relative value analysis across issuers, sectors, and capital structures to identify attractive risk-adjusted opportunities
• Assist in managing CLO portfolios within structural constraints, including compliance tests and portfolio optimization considerations
• Conduct stress testing, recovery analysis, and scenario modeling to assess portfolio risk and performance
• Engage with management teams, sell-side analysts, and industry experts to enhance underwriting process
• Support trading activity through research-driven ideas and ongoing credit surveillance
• Contribute to broader credit strategies, including opportunistic or hedge fund-related trades where applicable

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of experience in leveraged finance, credit research, CLOs, or related buy-side/sell-side role
• Strong understanding of leveraged loans and capital structures
• Advanced financial modeling and credit underwriting skills
• Experience with CLO structures, including compliance tests and portfolio construction dynamics preferred
• Proven ability to generate actionable investment ideas and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
