- Job Title: Credit Analyst
- Location: Portland, OR (Onsite)
- Duration: 6-7 months contract
- Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented Credit Analyst to evaluate and monitor the creditworthiness of customers, counterparties, and vendors. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing financial statements, assessing credit risk, managing collateral requirements, and preparing credit exposure reports. This role requires strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding credit and risk-related matters.
- Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other financial information to evaluate the creditworthiness of customers, counterparties, and vendors.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive business and credit profiles, including organizational structures, credit ratings, collateral positions, and financial data.
- Review and assess credit risk exposures and recommend appropriate credit limits and collateral requirements.
- Coordinate with internal business units regarding credit evaluations, collateral requirements, and risk assessments.
- Review, negotiate, and administer collateral support documentation, including letters of credit, parent guarantees, surety bonds, and other forms of credit support.
- Monitor and report credit exposures, collateral positions, and other key credit risk metrics.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for management regarding credit risk and exposure assessments.
- Respond to inquiries related to credit exposure, collateral requirements, and credit risk evaluations.
- Maintain accurate credit files and supporting documentation in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Support ongoing credit risk management initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, risk management, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and creditworthiness assessment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and present recommendations supported by sound financial analysis.
- Experience reviewing and administering collateral support documentation, including letters of credit, guarantees, and surety bonds.
- Experience with credit analysis spreadsheet models and financial spreading tools.
- Experience using credit research platforms such as S&P Capital IQ, Moody's, Fitch, or similar tools.
- Experience within the utility, energy, commodity, banking, or commercial credit industries.
- Knowledge of credit risk management principles and counterparty risk assessment.
