Competitive Intelligence Analyst

This role is ideal for a research professional who enjoys transforming complex data into actionable insights and has an interest in leveraging emerging AI technologies to improve research and analysis. You'll collaborate with attorneys, business development professionals, and leadership to identify market opportunities, analyze competitors, monitor industry trends, and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal, business, company, and industry research using a variety of subscription research platforms.
• Prepare competitive intelligence reports, company profiles, industry overviews, and client briefings.
• Monitor market developments, competitor activity, litigation trends, and emerging legal issues.
• Utilize AI-powered research tools responsibly to enhance research efficiency and insight generation.
• Develop newsletters, alerts, and intelligence updates for internal stakeholders.
• Analyze internal and external data to identify business development opportunities.
• Support reporting initiatives by tracking research usage, trends, and return on investment.
• Collaborate with marketing, business development, and practice groups on strategic research requests.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, business intelligence, or corporate research within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience using legal and business research databases.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted research tools and an understanding of their practical applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees are considered a plus.
