  • Project Overview
  • Our client is seeking two Participant Data Collection Specialists to support the CEAL DMV Roots of Wellness Study, a community-based clinical research initiative focused on reducing health disparities and improving chronic disease outcomes among underserved populations in Baltimore and Washington, DC.
  • Originally launched in 2020 as part of the NIH Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) to address health disparities related to COVID-19, the study has since expanded to focus on chronic disease prevention and management, including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. Participants work alongside Community Health Workers through digital health promotion, wellness coaching, and community engagement activities over an 18-month study period. These consultants will support a high volume of in-person participant follow-up visits (approximately 150 per week) by collecting biometric data, administering study surveys, documenting research data, and ensuring a positive participant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person participant follow-up visits for an active community-based clinical research study.
  • Collect biometric measurements including: Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, Hemoglobin A1c (POC testing)
  • Administer standardized research surveys and questionnaires.
  • Enter participant information accurately into REDCap and other study documentation systems.
  • Ensure participant confidentiality and adherence to research protocols.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of collected research data.
  • Communicate with the study team regarding participant scheduling and daily data collection activities.
  • Assist with participant check-in and workflow during scheduled appointments.
  • Represent the research team professionally while interacting with community participants.
  • Complete required in-person training prior to supporting study activities.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Experience supporting clinical research, public health, healthcare, or community health initiatives.
  • Comfortable interacting with diverse patient and community populations.
  • Experience collecting basic biometric measurements such as: Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, Point-of-Care (POC) testing (A1c preferred)
  • Experience administering participant surveys or questionnaires.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and data entry.
  • Comfortable learning and utilizing REDCap or similar electronic data capture systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) experience.
  • Experience supporting NIH, academic medical center, or community-based research studies.
  • Experience working with underserved or community-based populations.
  • Experience with participant recruitment or follow-up visits.
